The guide provides information about a range of rare inherited retinal conditions as well as more common conditions. The aim of the guide to provide accessible, reliable and easily understandable information about conditions and research, and give details about support available for people and families living with sight loss. We recently launched our Fighting Blindness Educational Resource after consultations with a number of teachers and students. The goal of the project was to develop a resource that could be used as part of our existing Schools Programme to create awareness among students about visual impairment and sight loss.

Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) Brochure – A Patient’s Guide

This is a 21-page A4 sized brochure with very useful information about AMD. It explains what AMD is, gives a look inside your eye, outlines risk factors and prevention, getting tested, what happens after diagnosis, support services, personal stories, research, lifestyle tips, FAQ’s and much more.

Framework to Adopt a Strategic Approach for Vision Health in Ireland

Fighting Blindness, as part of the National Vision Coalition, launched the ‘Framework to Adopt a Strategic Approach for Vision Health in Ireland’ on March 7, 2013. The ambition of the coalition and the framework is to enhance the approach Ireland takes to prevent avoidable sight loss and promote better eye health amongst children and adults in Ireland.
