Dedicated to Fighting Blindness Ireland by US based singer/songwriter and All-Ireland winning footballer with County Tyrone, Mickey Coleman
“At one of my concerts I was struck by the particular attention paid to me by someone in the audience. Afterwards I met with the man, who was at the concert with his son. He explained why his focus was fixed on me – he was blind.
In our conversation he told me how he longed to go to sleep. When I asked him why, he told me that when he slept he dreamed – he dreamed of what it would be like to see.
The conversation stayed with me for many months. Eventually I penned this song – ‘Blind Man’s Dream’.
I am happy to dedicate the song to Fighting Blindness Ireland and to congratulate you on your amazing work in funding research into a cure for blindness and in helping those who live it with it.”
