Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon 2015

Image of 2015 mini marathon participantsOver 60 women took part the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon for Fighting Blindness on June Bank Holiday Monday.  Our office in Ely Place served as the perfect camp for participants as it is very close to both the start and finish of the race. Despite the terrible weather everyone was in high spirits and once again we had a fantastic day. We are very grateful to everyone who travelled from all over the country to take part and who made such efforts to fundraise before the event.

Thank you to everyone who has lodged and posted funds so far. If you would like information about how to lodge your sponsorship, you can contact Clodagh on 01 6789 004 or fundraising@fightingblindness.ie. The draw for an overnight stay and dinner for two in the Crowne Plaza Hotel at Northwood, Santry will take place soon so don’t miss out!

Thanks again everyone, we look forward to welcoming you all back again next year!

Flora Women’s Mini Marathon 2014

Image of Fighting Blindness 2014 Mini Marathon participants 2014Another beautiful June bank holiday has come and gone, and with it, one of the most exciting events of the fundraising calendar. The Flora Women’s Mini Marathon never fails to bring a buzz to the streets of Dublin, and this year, Team Fighting Blindness lit up the 10k route with electric orange.

The 2014 race saw 51 women from 14 different counties don their runners and bright new shirts in order to raise funds and awareness for Fighting Blindness. It was great to meet so many of you at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) for a snack and a chat before and after the event.

Thank you to everyone who took part and raised funds for research into treatments and cures for blindness.

FundraisiImage of Fighting Blindness Mini Marathon Logong Tips!

Over 90% of our funding comes from you, the public, through fundraising and donations. Over the last 30 years we have invested over €15 million into supporting and advocating for our members while investigating conditions causing sight loss and working to find treatments and cures for blindness. We could not have done this without the help of hundreds of women that have taken part in mini-marathons for Fighting Blindness during that time and we are sincerely grateful for your support.

Once you join Team Fighting Blindness we will send you out a sponsorship card so you can get started with your fundraising.
