Visionaries Music School
Beginning in June 2015, a small but very enthusiastic group of visually impaired students and their tutors met for twelve consecutive Saturdays at our Ely Place premises. Together they created what may be Ireland’s most unique music school. The Visionaries Music School facilitates the teaching of music to vision impaired and blind students of all ages. The school’s ethos emphasises enrichment through life-long musical experience and currently we offer classes in piano, guitar, clarinet, banjo and bouzouki.
The Visionaries Choir is open to new members joining at any time. The choir, under the direction of Frank Kelly, made its debut at the Retina Conference last November in Croke Park and built on that successful outing the following month with a well-received carol service in Clarendon Street Church in Dublin city centre. The choir have generated some important publicity for Fighting Blindness both on television and in print.
If you have a reasonable quality musical instrument at home, in good order but no longer required, perhaps you would consider donating it to the Visionaries Music School. In this way we can ensure that anyone who wants to can avail of some valuable musical tuition irrespective of their financial circumstances.
