Retina 2015 Conference

Image of Retina 2015 Promotional BannerRetina 2015 will take place in the Croke Park Conference Centre in Dublin on November 6 and 7.  The Scientific Programme on Friday November 6 is designed for clinicians, scientists, policy makers and industry representatives. The Public Engagement Day on Saturday, November 7 is tailored for people and families affected by conditions causing sight loss, and members of the public with an interest in vision research.

Scientific Programme: Friday, November 6

The Retina conference facilitates networking between Irish and international colleagues, leading to future collaborations and catalysing the next generation of vision research. Retina 2015 speakers include leading scientists and clinicians from the US, Europe and Ireland. Some of the topics to be presented are clinical gene therapy, stem cell therapy, advanced ocular imaging, and novel drug therapies. Registration is now open at

Public Engagement Day– Saturday, November 7

This is the fifth consecutive year that the Retina conference will include a Public Engagement Day. This day offers a unique opportunity for people affected by sight loss, family members and the general public to engage with leading clinicians and researchers and provides a platform for Irish patients to learn about their condition and the research that is aiming to find therapies to treat it.

Once again at this year’s conference there will be a number of condition specific break-out sessions for age-related macular degeneration (AMD), retinitis pigmentosa (RP), Usher syndrome, Stargardt disease, and other retinal degenerations.
