Our Education and Outreach Programme moves west this September! Caitriona Dunne and Laura Brady PhD will host the meetings in Galway city and Castlebar on September 14 and 15.
On Wednesday, September 14 an information event will take place at 6:30pm in the Humbert Room of the TF Royal Hotel in Castlebar. Click here to register for the Mayo Information Evening.
On Thursday, September 15, the Imperial Hotel in Eyre Square, Galway will play host to an information event, again at 6:30pm. Click here to register for the Galway Information Evening.
These meetings are designed for people and families affected by vision loss and also members of the public who are interested in learning about Fighting Blindness. They will focus on conditions that affect the retina, which is located at the back of the eye. These conditions include, amongst others;
- age-related macular degeneration (AMD)
- diabetic retinopathy
- retinitis pigmentosa (RP)
- Usher syndrome
- Stargardt disease
- Leber congenital amaurosis (LCA)
- cone-rod dystrophies
- Leber hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON)

Education and outreach is a vital part of the work of Fighting Blindness. We are committed to providing information and support to people and families all over Ireland who are living with sight loss.
