Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place at the Ashling Hotel Dublin on Saturday, April 5. It was great to welcome over 60 of our members from all over the country as we met old and new friends over a light lunch.
Our CEO, Avril Daly, was joined by Treasurer Ronan Holahan and staff members to go through the business meeting and provide an operational overview of 2013 and our plans for the coming year. We enjoyed the opportunity to thank members for their support throughout the year.
Of significant interest to our members was the extensive discussion on Target 3000 by Dr Paul Kenna and Mr David Keegan. Excellent questions were raised by the audience, and we have addressed these in a full report here.
A highlight of the day was the presentation of the Anne Byrne Memorial Award to our member and friend, Gregor Herda, a student at University College Cork, who walked 1,500km from Dresden to Cork in summer 2013, raising awareness and funds for Fighting Blindness.
