Welcome to the Spring 2015 issue of Visionaries. It has been an exciting few months for Fighting Blindness; we kicked off our fundraising for 2015 with the annual Sporting Gala Dinner and are now preparing for upcoming events such as our Mizen To Malin Cycle Challenge, the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon and a number of treks and expeditions. We continue to support, and are very grateful to, our many community fundraisers all over the country who are organising events to support our work. We also look forward to working with the Mater Private Hospital, who have nominated Fighting Blindness as their Charity of the Year for 2015.

We have had some changes in the office in recent months and following a fond farewell to Rita Dolan in January, we are pleased to welcome Emma Morgan to the fundraising team and wish her well in her new role as Donor Care Manager.
We have had a wonderful response to our recently published Guide to Conditions of the Retina, which is proving to be a source of information and support to many people affected by sight loss, as well as eye doctors and other health professionals.
