Welcome to the Summer 2015 issue of Visionaries

Image of Caitriona DunneSince our last update there have been lots of events and activities in all areas of our work which you can read about in the coming pages. If there is anything that you would like more information about or something you would like to contribute, please get in touch, we are always looking for new ideas and input from members and supporters.

We had the opportunity to meet many of you at our annual general meeting (AGM) in April, we hope that you found it to be an informative and enjoyable day, if you have any feedback about the event we would love to hear it. We also met many supporters, new and old, at the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon on June Bank Holiday Monday, which once again, was a fantastic event and we are grateful to everyone who took part.

On behalf of Fighting Blindness I would like to sincerely thank all of the wonderful volunteers who helped out at our recent bucket collections, cyclathons, the Terenure 5 Mile, AGM and other events. We are indebted to the excellent supporters who give their time to help us in any way they can and we really appreciate your hard work and dedication.

We are delighted to welcome the Insight Counselling Service to 7 Ely Place. Insight was based in South Great George’s St for many years but has now completed the move to their new home. It is located adjacent to the main Fighting Blindness office but has a designated area separate to the main office to ensure privacy for all callers and visitors. Ely Place is just off St. Stephen’s Green in Dublin 2, if you have any queries about the change in location please don’t hesitate to give us a call.

We hope you have a very enjoyable summer.
