International Rare Disease Day 2016 will be marked by a Rare Disease Conference in Dublin Castle.
Many conditions causing vision impairment are rare diseases. In the E.U. a disease is classified as rare if it affects fewer that one in 2,000 people. The Rare Disease Day 2016 theme ‘Patient Voice’ recognises the crucial role that patients play in voicing their needs and in instigating change that improves their lives and the lives of their families and carers.
